UPDATE-Thermal Power Emission Case: Rejoinder to Government's Reply Filed

Image for Representation

A petiton was filed in May, 2016 by Vindhya Bachao members challenging the recent emission standards notified by Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change (MOEFCC) on 7th December, 2015. Apart from that, the petitioners raised several other issues related to regulation of thermal power plants in India and sought various directions.  The respondents were MOEFCC, Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Ministry of Power and Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (MOWR). MOWR abstained from filing any separate reply and adopted the reply filed by MOEFCC as its stand.

We have now filed a consolidated reply to all the replies received. A copy of the Rejoinder can be found here.
